Core City was built by working people, classic Detroiters. Some of them stayed through the decades of decline and are still here. Today they're joined by ambitious, creative new neighbors who respect the place they've moved into.

Our projects are experimental. They aren't designed for a luxury lifestyle. They're designed for a creative one, built around space, landscape and natural light.

Every residential project we've finished sits on land that used to be an empty, neglected residential lot. We work with immensely talented architects and landscape architects. We build the projects ourselves. The location may no longer be an experiment, but the projects still are. Each one tries to give residents more light, better space, and more creative materials and layouts, set in lush, generous landscapes.

By the numbers: we've built 44 apartments and planted 534 trees around them. That's 12 trees per apartment. Large windows frame the city and the landscape and fill every apartment with abundant natural light.

The result is a community of like-minded, sensitive and creative people. Our apartments aren't for everyone. But if nothing else out there feels like it's for you, Core City probably is.
